My running started in 2005 in the Polish army — no watch, no plan, no idea what I was doing. Two decades later I've covered over 2,000 kilometres in competition, won races from 40 miles to 110, set Fastest Known Times, and built a coaching practice that next year will mark its tenth year (2027).
I'm not a coach who used to run. I'm still racing, still testing myself, and still learning — which means every athlete I work with benefits from experience that is current, not historical.
My background is unconventional. Medically trained with a military background, I lived and raced for ten years in the Lake District before relocating to the Scottish Highlands. That combination — medical knowledge, military discipline, and over a decade of competitive ultrarunning across the UK and Europe — shapes how I coach. I understand physiology, I understand suffering, and I understand what it takes to keep going when life is complicated.
Because life is always complicated. I'm a father to a young child, and I know first-hand what it means to fit serious training around sleepless nights, family commitments, and days when the plan simply doesn't survive contact with reality. I know how to train alongside a toddler, how to find the sessions that matter when time is short, and how to keep progressing when life refuses to slow down.
I coach runners of all levels and distances — from 5K to 100 miles. Whether you're chasing a parkrun PB, preparing for your first marathon, or taking on a multi-day ultra, the principles of good training are the same: consistency, smart progression, and a plan that fits your actual life rather than an idealised version of it.
My personal background is in ultrarunning, which means athletes preparing for longer distances benefit from particularly deep first-hand experience. But the fundamentals I coach — aerobic development, strength, nutrition, recovery, and race strategy — apply across all distances and all levels.
